Our Story

Mt. Adams Bar and Grill, 938 Hatch Street, was built in 1875 and has had many lives through the years. This one began in 1987 when Eddie Sheppard bought it after creating the Blind Lemon next door. He set his sights on recreating a tavern of years gone by filled with antiques, stained glass and memorabilia that captivate customers while they enjoy cocktails and great comfort food.

It is within walking distance to Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Cincinnati Art Museum and Krohn Conservatory as well as being in a historic hilltop neighborhood overlooking downtown Cincinnati.

Our Menu

Our food matches our old world style. It is a place of comfort and friendly faces with homemade soups, salad dressings, salads and desserts. It has become a neighborhood staple.

This bar was close to our hotel reservation, used the paid parking garage a block from the bar as street parking was limited. Visted at the end of the evening but would recommend. Bartender (Matt) was extremely friendly, very generous/helpful to us and the regulars. Food was good and hot, drinks were cold. Great history of the bar. Bar next door is owned by same owner too.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat and this place did not let me now by any means, the chicken wings are absolutely out of this world with their house made buffalo sauce a absolute 10/10, the bartender and staff were both so awesome coming in near closing time! Cheers to them and this place ! A definite must stop while in the Queen City !

We are locals that love finding new spots to eat in the Greater Cincinnati area. Mt. Adam’s Bar & Grill is definitely worth a try! It’s extremely deceiving when you first walk in the front door. We were expecting a bar atmosphere and not a unique dining room atmosphere. The hostess took us thru the front bar area, through a middle dining area and into a midsize back dining area with plenty of windows for natural light. They have plenty of food and drink options. We chose the chicken salad sandwich and a burger. The food and service were great.
We will definitely be back again!

First came here when it was McCarthy's in the 1970s. Later became Mt. Adams Bar and Grill. Great atmosphere, excellent food and friendly, attentive service. Highly recommended. A Cincinnati treasure.
